Daimler Trucks has polled 60 random trucks and found that the life-to-date overall fuel economy was at an astounding 6.78 MPG average. This is what many fleets and owner operators have been searching for and we have several vehicles available for immediate delivery.

These trucks have built-in diversity. We have 48" Mid-roofs that can easily replace less efficient day cab configurations. We also have 58" Mid-roofs that can be utilized for LTL, Tank, Regional, and OTR operations. The roof fairing can be removed if you are pulling a grain, flatbed, tanker, or other low trailer configuration. The trucks are equipped with a roof air fairing to decrease coefficient drag for carriers that pull box and reefer freight.

Weight
Do you haul bulk? Then I am sure that weight is a factor. Many of these smaller and medium size sleeper trucks weigh in under conventional day cab specs. They can and do accomplish this primarily due to the weight of the engines combined with Freightliner engineering. These engines weigh in several hundred pounds lighter than many of the competitors. At our dealership we have added aluminums to the outside of the trucks for both added esthetics and further reduction of weight. These trucks are priced the same as other trucks, but they are limited to availability.



Maintenance
The MBE 4000 has a design that allows for longer oil change intervals. Many engines have manufacturer suggested intervals set at 15,000 miles. The Mercedes Benz interval is almost 67% longer at 25,000 miles. If your truck needs work, you're off the road while repairs are made—that means costly downtime. At Detroit Diesel, they believe that the best repairs are no repairs. The MBE 4000 keeps your truck working with fewer repairs and a longer distance between routine service intervals.

Power
High torque at low RPM gives you power to spare on steep grades. Our advanced fuel system maintains fuel economy with weight, reduced maintenance, and power--it's no wonder the MBE 4000 is one of the best lightweight heavy-duty engines available.


Flexibility
We are starting to see more and more people that are in search of diversity. They want trucks that are spec'd to perform city, regional, and longer hauls. These trucks have been built to do just that. The 48" Sleeper mid-roofs have an optimum wheelbase that meets and exceeds many of the bridge laws state-to-state. If a driver consumes all hours, the bunk is ready for them to rest. The MBE 4000 is also very efficient at idling. Many of the tested trucks have 40% or greater idle time and still average 6.78 MPG.


Interior
Interiors built safe and ergonomic best describe this group of trucks. Jake brakes that flat out perform! Gauges and switches keep you in control of your investment and its load. The HVAC systems in these trucks are exceptional. Seventeen fresh air flow vents help keep the operator comfortable and refreshed.
